The building in the picture is the newly constructed Beijing South Railway Station. In the near feature, as a more efficient, greener choice, railway will replace some of the domestic airlines in China.

As the capital of the country, Bejing is naturally a cultural and economic magnet in northern China, the city faces many challenges to move people from one place to another. The many newly renovated and constructed railway stations are here to solve the problem. Beijing South Railway Station is one of them.

The enormous oval-shaped station was designed by the UK/Hong Kong architecture firm of Terry Farrell and Partners in collaboration with the Tianjin Design Institute.

Not just an amazing archtecture, there are some amazing numbers behind it to. Beijing South Railway Station has 24 platforms, and it has the capacity to dispatch 30,000 passengers per hour or 241,920,000 a year.
