Ruifuxiang is one of the long-standing chain of silk stores in Northern China. There are three Ruifuxiang stores at Dazhalan, outside Qianmen.

The first flag of People’s Republic of China raised in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square on 1 October 1949 was made by Ruifuxiang.

The building in the picture is the newly constructed Beijing South Railway Station. In the near feature, as a more efficient, greener choice, railway will replace some of the domestic airlines in China.

As the capital of the country, Bejing is naturally a cultural and economic magnet in northern China, the city faces many challenges to move people from one place to another. The many newly renovated and constructed railway stations are here to solve the problem. Beijing South Railway Station is one of them.

The enormous oval-shaped station was designed by the UK/Hong Kong architecture firm of Terry Farrell and Partners in collaboration with the Tianjin Design Institute.

Not just an amazing archtecture, there are some amazing numbers behind it to. Beijing South Railway Station has 24 platforms, and it has the capacity to dispatch 30,000 passengers per hour or 241,920,000 a year.

Guardian Lion at Prince Gong Mansion

Prince Gong’s Mansion is known as one of the most ornate and extravagant residence compounds in all of Beijing. The stone lions at the entrances are much larger than the average ones you see in a normal siheyuan.

The one in the picture is the male lion guards the right side of the entrance. According to Chinese Fengshui, the female lion should sit on the left while the male lion should sit on the right.
